Bring it.

BIG snow amount forecasts for many of the CO mtns through end of week. A quick edit of some footage from Sunday at Berthoud pass. No music so be sure to play the music player on the blog.

There was 10" of new snow reported overnight and the snow was still falling. Helmet cam was a little shaky but good enough for a little teaser vid. Approximately 3,500 vertical over a 4hr tour... 7am-11am. Perfect timing as when we returned to the BP parking lot it was FULL. Not even room for Santa's sleigh...

12.11.10 Berthoud Pass

Arrived at the BP parking lot at 6:30am to find jdwicks, AKA John Denver, headlamp lit and itching to get on the uptrack. Fortunately we were waiting for one more (Jeff) so had some time to get down that last lung dart before we skinned over to Floral Park.

Lap 1: East Side, Floral Park:

I'm pretty sure Jeff & John (below) will tell you this is about as good as it gets for 7:00am:

Lap 2: West Side, The Plunge:

Lap 3: West Side, The Plunge:

The snow will continue through early week with a short break before the next front comes through just before the weekend... Keep 'em up!

Don't forget to be safe, read below article and link to video on youtube - drainage between BP and WP:

danger under the snowdon quad

Soligully and Trouble Maker on Snowdon quad chair getting ready to avoid the human bowling pins on the way down.  Well they avoided everyone except for each other.  They collided directly under the chair.  Soligully ended up in the woods and Trouble Maker had a close encounter with the snow gun.  Some crew we have! Steer clear of the rookie tele skier and "morgan rocket mouse" on her new skis

11.14.10 - Day 3

Early curtain call this morning hitting the road at 5:45am. Clear skies and roads until Empire and then had to deal with winter driving conditions up to the pass. Not quite white knuckles but keeps you on edge. After logging close to 2,500 vert and 4 laps, I was on my way back to Denver at 10am as the crowds started to arrive.
It's starting to fill-in real nice up there. It will continue to snow everyday through Wednesday this week, so Friday should be a good day to play hookie up at Berthoud.

Until then, keep your tips up!

Rum Pointe GC - Ocean City, MD

Panoramic of the view from the back porch of the clubhouse. Looking out at holes 9 & 18 that lead back to the clubhouse and are separated by a monster lake that swallowed up many of our balls throughout the week! Killer golf course...

Soligully getting in his last few swings of the season before the flakes start to fly.

Liv2Ride didn't quite make it to the ladies tees on this tee shot! Just following the rules.

10.30.10 First Day of the Season

After 2-3' of snow in the high country over the past 5 days up it was a 'no brainer' to head up this morning. Here's a pic of the aftermath of the 5hr tour, approx 2,300 total vert climbed and 7miles covered - great first day out:

07:30 - Sunrise over the divide.

08:30 - Summit of Russel

09:00 - My blank canvass

10:00 - Lap 1

11:30 - Lap 2

Happy Halloweenie!

New Boots for 10/11

After six seasons rocking' the Salomon's I figured it was a good time to invest in some new footwear. Opting for the Tecnica's was a decision I may regret. My first and last pair of Tecnica's was on the Explosion 8's back in mid-90's (yes gentleman, we're getting old). I remember the break-in period was tough, but then grew to love them before ripping the sole off the right boot at Hunter... Good times.
Well now I don't have to wear my BD's at the resort anymore. Be good and be safe as we head into winter.

Next purchase, new ski's. But first I have to buy a pass. Anyone have an extra couple, two-tree thousand laying around?
