killington fall line backcountry search for the yurt.  dodd and i skinned 45 min and weren't even close to finding it.  after trekking we skied a powder filled run down to needles eye chair for a few inbounds turns.  looking from the chairlift we realized we were way higher than the yurt

snotsicle attemps bumps on tele skis but found a way to dig the tip of his ski directly into the backside of the bump followed by a faceplant.  yay!

Dew Tour Weekend 4Degenerate style...

Flat Speed

4 miles an hour through Minnewaska in the Gunks. Sustained for 1 3/4 hr. No these are not wooden antiques for show. They're speed demons. Snowfall - approx. 1 mm per hour of freshies. Only 4 spills. Not able to turn these puppies more than 10 degrees yet... forget stopping on pitches.

Bring it.

BIG snow amount forecasts for many of the CO mtns through end of week. A quick edit of some footage from Sunday at Berthoud pass. No music so be sure to play the music player on the blog.

There was 10" of new snow reported overnight and the snow was still falling. Helmet cam was a little shaky but good enough for a little teaser vid. Approximately 3,500 vertical over a 4hr tour... 7am-11am. Perfect timing as when we returned to the BP parking lot it was FULL. Not even room for Santa's sleigh...

We should hit up Mount Snow for Reggae Fest this year!!!! This was one of the events a couple years ago!! Actually this year it is BUD LIGHT MARDI GRAS on March 5th

12.11.10 Berthoud Pass

Arrived at the BP parking lot at 6:30am to find jdwicks, AKA John Denver, headlamp lit and itching to get on the uptrack. Fortunately we were waiting for one more (Jeff) so had some time to get down that last lung dart before we skinned over to Floral Park.

The snow will continue through early week with a short break before the next front comes through just before the weekend... Keep 'em up!
