Who Cares If You Ski at Vail

Friday, January 23rd | Berthoud Pass
Snowboy, Snoworries & Buddy | Logged 2100 vertical, 3 hrs, 2.5mi covered (3-6pm)

4:45pm, gearing up for lap 3, blackberry inside the hat while taking a work conference call. Call lasted 20mins while skinning the first 200' vert gain, all while mother nature is puking. I love work.

Triple Rock from second stage

  1. good use of your Avalung pack. heard it works well when you have it zipped up and stowed away

  2. Ha! Yea it does. No need to have it out if the terrain and conditions don't warrant it! Snowpack is fairly stable in Colorado, kind of. Not likely to trigger an avalanche, however there is a weak layer near the ground, so if you do trigger one, it'll be big...

  3. Next time when you approach an avi slope take a deep breath. That will give you at least 3 minutes of fresh air, maybe 4. Snoworries should recover you by then with his beacon, probe, shovel. I'm glad to see you have faith in your backcountry partner. Good TEAMWORK! Just kidding. BE SAFE and STAY ON TOP
