This weekend had it's ups and downs, its flakes and raindrops, its laughs and...slaps...? Overall, a very memorable weekend, for all sorts of reasons. It began with confusion as to the travel plans of Solligully, Snotscicle, Liv2Ride, Snoworries and the "Bos." Once that was all figured out - meatmarket (including Romney) in Snoworries' whip - the drinking commenced!
Snotscicle was seen with a rare SEVEN pack, while Liv2Ride and the Bos' drink of choice was whiskey, Snoworries - sober??? Don't remember much from that ride, so let's fast forward to VT. Upon entrance to 4D I decided to demolish Sacrod's unfinished Beer-a-mid, "steal" his new "expensive" socks and displace his gloves which earned me "The SLAP heard 'round Vermont!" After order was restored (Sacrod passed out on couch...) alcoholism helped bond the 4Dmates and the Bos' guests (great bunch). Saturday - An early rise to rip early morning uncrowded curduroy turned into a "Who could stand still and wait with their thumb up their ass the longest" contest in which Solligully and the Bos had to have a best-out-of-three thumbwrestle war playoff to decide! Great day though, partly sunny with warmer temps than anticipated including unforseen POWDER turns. SIRLOIN STEAK, pepperoni pizza, and adult beverages for lunch - enough said. Red Bull Rail Jam @ 430 went well with the coffee and Kahlua! Weekend TWO of Snotcicle's world famous slow-cooked chili for dinner, the return of the Dodd, and I believe everyone was passed out by 11PM - that's how you know it's good... A near Selkirk (Katie) meal for Romney at approx. 3AM - wait, was that a dream? - and rise at 730. Ram's Head opened Sunday so I went to ride the "Magic Carpet" for a couple of laps (inside joke for the smelly room inhabitants)! Decision was made (after 12 or so hours) to make it a backcountry VT day that turned out to be very, very worth it...and then the "snow"storm rolled in! The phone call from the Bos after 1.5 hours on the road back to NY and still in Fort Anne had Solligully, Snotcicle and myself curious - so we looked at the radar... Apparently three self-proclaimed meteorologists overlooked a NOREASTER that was streaming up the east coast - OOPS!!! The call was made to stay followed by dreams of blower powder face shots the following day at the two mountains we had all to ourselves in our backyard! SWEEEEEET! To our dismay the night fell and so too began the RAIN! EFFFFFFF!!! Well, at least the season deciding Giants game was on right? 45 - 38 Philly... ONLY IN VERMONT ...Here's looking forward to a great season!
Sincerely,
Liv2Ride
