Pumpkinseed
Never caught one of these before. Its a type of Sunfish called a “pumpkinseed”. Definitely one of the most colorful and vibrant freshwater fish I have ever caught. The picture doesn't really do it justice as to how bright it was. Cool fish - Blue, red and orange colors. It was caught at Rockland Country Club and was about 10"-12" - apparently very big for this type of fish.

ReplyDeleteNa, I threw them back...I didn't know what it was when I caught it. They say its a good pan fish...maybe next time.
